Help for Basse Market Fire Victims
Donation protected
Today Monday, February 24, 2020 the Basse Central Market was consumed in flames resulting in the entire market burning down. Most of our petty-traders lost their life time investments.
As expected, these folks will need our assistance. Friends of Basse wants to compliment the efforts of the government and other agencies on the ground in extending a helping hand to the fire victims.
We are therefore reaching out to all and sundry for donations to help the victims of this inferno.
Thank you for your donations. As of 3/1/2020, Friends of Basse has put together a team on the ground led by our Project Manager and Financial Officer to collect data of the market vendors. Our goal is to directly impact these petty traders, thus help revive their business. Once the data is collected, financial assistance in the form of cash will be extended to the victims.
We will keep you informed of our efforts as we progress. We want to make sure that these vendors are able to provide basic commodities for our people to continue life as best as they could.
The above picture shows some part of the market that was totally destroyed. please continue to share this campaign as our people will be needing a lot of help. We will reach as many families and vendors as possible and you will be kept informed through the process.
Thank you for your continuous support of this fund. To update you, the funds will be withdrawn into the Friends of Basse Bank Account under the signatory of our executive Mr. Alhagie Sey a native of Basse. Mr. Sey will thereafter send the funds to The Gambia to our team on the ground led by our Project Manager and Financial Officer. Our team will be directly handing cash assistance to the victims. We will keep you posted as we progress. Be assured that we are working at the fastest pace the make the above happen. We encourage you to continue sharing this fundraiser link to your friends and families.
