Help for Bobby Pug
Donation protected
Hello my name is Dawn LaVan and I am fundraising for my 12 year old pug Bob who was just diagnosed with diabetes and ketones yesterday. I took him to the vet in the next town over from mine because that's where my hometown vet sent me and they did blood work on him and they ended up giving him an insulin shot while we were still there and teaching me how to give him one.
They said he had diabetes and keytones in his blood and that he would now be on insulin two times a day the rest of his life that he would need blood work once a week for the rest of his life and that he would need to stay overnight one or two nights or so a month at they're veterinary hospital (Butler Veterinary Accosiates) with them to monitor him and make sure he's okay each time.
I made this go fund me with encouragement from friends and kind people in the Pug world. If anyone would like to help with any money towards Bob's overnight vet stays I would be so grateful.
For a little bit of backstory I am autistic and I do have mild learning disabilities so I am on Social Security I adopted Bob from Florida after Hurricane Irma in 2018 his elderly Mom had lost her home I the storms and she was sick with cancer and she was legally blind.
Nancy loved Bobby very very much and the last thing she wanted to do was part with him. But she trusted a person she didn't even know bless her heart and that was me and I've had Bobby ever since.
I know I don't make a lot of money because of being on disability but I can afford the insulin and I can afford the the needles. I can afford the blood work. I just can't afford the vet stays overnight. So any help would be very much appreciated. Thank you all so much.
I have any and all paperwork from the Vet if anyone needs to see his diagnosis papers. I paid the initial bill of $500 from my savings. But it will take me months to get that much back in my savings account again. And Bob may have to stay overnight before then. Thanks again.
The $5,000 max is so I can hopefully afford them the rest of his life.
