Help Brett Waters heal on his road to recovery

Donation protected

Hello, my name is Christie and I am asking for help for my brother Brett. Brett has suffered a traumatic nerve injury & is out of commission & unable to walk, drive or work for the next few months, or more, and needs our support!! Your donations will be used towards medical & living expenses so that Brett can focus on making a full recovery!!

Those of you who know Brett, know he is one of the BEST people on the planet. I am so blessed to have him not only as a brother, but as a best friend. Brett is funny, kind, loving, compassionate and generous. He cares deeply for his friends and family, and takes care of those around him. He always has a smile on his face and keeps a positive attitude.

Brett is very independent and not one to ask for help, so I am asking for him. As his big sister, it is my job to support my little brother, and so I wanted to do this for him, to give him some peace of mind, and the ability to focus his energy 100% on working towards making a FULL RECOVERY & HEALING!!!!

WHY BRETT NEEDS OUR HELP....

Sadly, Brett was the victim of a violent assault last Saturday morning on his way to work, and suffered a severe stab wound, to the back of his right leg. Brett was rushed to Suburban hospital, and we had hoped that his injury was superficial, and that he would be ok, but unfortunately, this was not the case. Brett was unable to walk, move, or feel his injured leg and foot. The doctors feared there was nerve damage and Brett was transferred to Johns Hopkins hospital, in Baltimore.

Our fears were confirmed and Brett was taken into emergency surgery, in a crucial effort to repair his severed, sciatic nerve. Fortunately, the surgery was a success and the doctors were able to reattach the nerve, but the recovery is ongoing as the nerve has to grow and regenerate, and he will be out of commission for the next few months or more.

POST OP - ROAD TO RECOVERY

Post surgery, he has not yet regained any feeling or movement in his leg or foot, and was put into a brace, that keeps his leg at a 90 degree angle, where it will remain for the next 3-4 months, and potentially longer, as the nerve heals. We are hopeful Brett will make a full recovery, but there is no guarantee, and only time will tell. He has a long and difficult road ahead of him and will have to do extensive physical therapy, and rehab treatments to help him heal for the next year, and possibly more.

Not only is the recovery from his type of injury traumatic, both mentally and physically, and his road ahead long and uncertain. Brett is unable to do what he loves most. Brett is a dedicated, and hard worker and loves his job and his co-workers. He is used to working 12 hour days, 6 days a week, and being on his feet. Not being able to drive, walk or work, as he normally would is going to be a huge challenge for him mentally, emotionally and financially.

We can all help by donating what we can so that he can focus on his recovery.

PLEASE HELP BRETT WORK TOWARDS HIS RECOVERY BY DONATING, WHAT YOU CAN TO HIS FUND!! ANY AMOUNT WILL HELP!!

I know if anyone can overcome this type of traumatic injury it is Brett, and he will do so with a positive attitude and a smile on his face, and you can help with your donation.

THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR YOUR LOVE & CONTINUED SUPPORT, IT IS GREATLY APPRECIATED!!

I will continue to keep you all updated on his recovery status. Please continue to keep him in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. ♥️♥️
