Help for Charlie Thysell
Donation protected
Hello everyone. We are Charlie's sisters - Kathie Stanville from Minneapolis and Elizabeth Atly from Seattle - and we are writing on behalf of our brother, Charlie Thysell, a unique and special human being, an artist of formidable talent and versatility.
Charlie had surgery last summer for lung cancer, followed by a difficult stretch of chemotherapy, which ended just before Christmas. He was unable to work through most of this ordeal, so his finances took a major hit. After finishing the chemo treatments Charlie seemed to be healthy and energetic.
A week after Charlie’s 70th birthday (Feb 28) we learned that his cancer was back and has spread to his brain, as well as his lungs. He is rapidly declining and of course we don’t know how much time he has left. He is unable to work or pay for his living expenses which, in addition to food, include rent on his apartment and art studio. His studio will be closed but not until it has been emptied, during which time rent will need to be paid.
Charlie’s art was his life: in honoring Charlie, we honor his art, which can be found on his Facebook page and elsewhere online. Prepare to be overwhelmed!!
We estimate that it will cost approximately $12,000 to cover the above expenses. Any help you are wiling to offer, no matter how big or small, would be deeply appreciated.
Thank you!
