Help for Chloe's Emergency Surgery!
Donation protected
My cat, Chloe, had emergency surgery yesterday. Thank you for the prayers that got her through that.
Now we need financial help to get her through.
They thought she had swallowed something unusual, because there was an extreme obstruction in her intestine. She was extremely compromised and while they weren't sure how it would go and if she would make it, she did well in surgery.
Ends up that the obstruction was a great mass of hair. There was no perforation of the intestine because she didn't actually swallow something unusual. She is still quite dehydrated and weak and will need recovery.
Celebration that she is in recovery!!!
A $9000 hairball complication!??!?!
Surgery was necessary or she would have died from it as her bowels were completely blocked and her intestines extremely distended.
I literally have less than $30 in my account so need some divine intervention there to cover this extreme and unexpected cost.
Some folks have expressed that the cost is high - this is NY. It was 2 a.m. and she needed emergent care.
I took her to Animal Specialty Center in Yonkers where her neurologist is. She has a history of seizures and is under treatment for that. That's why I brought her there.
Several hospitalization days and surgery. NY emergency vet hospital prices are high. She was excessively weak and incredibly dehydrated. If I hadn't brought her there immediately when I found her she would have died pretty soon thereafter. When I discovered her, I thought she was already gone. Thankfully she is determined and is still with us.
I've taken on the care of many animals due to negligence of others. If some people in my neighborhood had more regard for animal life I wouldn't have needed to take in so many rescues. I have found 17 kittens homes from the alley where I live. I brought Chloe in when she was pregnant in 2008 when she was living in the alley. After she had the kittens she had explosive diarrhea and began having seizures - she and the kittens lived then because I got her help and bottle fed her kittens. The seizures were due to a virus she obtained living on the street. She's an absolute angel of a cat. But with needing medication for that it was not possible for me to find a home for her so I kept her, as well as Lola who I also brought in when she was pregnant, and June who I had adopted to my friend Leslie who has since passed away. I'm all these cats have and they rely on me to care for them when they are ill.
And, as the three rescues I have all need regular blood work and medications, I struggle financially. It is important to me to do what I can to help them when they so very much need it.
Thus far, the treatment has proceeded by my taking out credit on Care Credit. I have to make on time payments on this to pay it in full within a short timeframe, or the interest rate goes to 27%. Thus far the credit extended is $6555 but that is only 75% of expected costs which are at $9000.
Immediate help will be greatly appreciated, so I do not need to extend more credit, and so I can begin to pay it back.
Finances are extremely difficult at present as I have been making less even though I am working nine jobs. All of my cats need regular medicine and medical treatment, and the development of my show has taken an extreme amount of financial development leaving me with no contigency funds and no savings at all.
Any help will go directly to the payment of this debt and to Chloe's continued recovery!
Love to everyone - for your concern, love, prayers, support, and any financial contribution you can make.
You will earn your Chloe halo and our great thanks!
