Help for Christie Williams and Emelia Dazi

I’m reaching out to you, our community, and asking for help for our dear friend Christie Williams and her daughter Emelia Dazi. If you know Christie, you know that she would never ask for help and she is silently suffering both financially and emotionally. Christie is a hard-working, single mom whose daughter, Emelia, has been suffering for the past year with severe, daily abdominal pain, nausea, and vomiting. Emelia is not currently able to attend Rhinebeck High School and thankfully has been issued a home bound tutor.

Christie has spent many days out of work, caring for Emelia as she struggles with her health. This has caused a huge financial hardship, debt, and stress for the family. After endless testing, Emelia was recently diagnosed with an annular pancreas. In other words, her pancreas is wrapped around her small intestine requiring her to need major abdominal surgery to reroute her bowels. Christie has already missed a tremendous amount of work over the past year and has exhausted all of her PTO. Her missed time from work is unpaid. Her medical bills are insurmountable and continue to increase. Emelia is scheduled for an extensive abdominal surgery on October 17. She will be inpatient at Lenox Hill Hospital for 7-10 days, depending on her post-op recovery. She will then start her long road to recovery at home, with her mom by her side.

I’m asking for monetary support, of any amount, that you may be able to give to help this single-mom pay medical bills, her mortgage, and utilities while she continues to care for her daughter. Many, many thanks from the bottom of my heart ♥️
