Cole’s fundraising for continued support for a brain tumour.

Hi my name is Sandra and I and my spouse Richard Dutcher are hoping to raise funds for my child. My child is a loving caring person who means the world to me. They have gone through a long journey of happiness but also hardships. My child followed into the family’s footsteps of entering into the healthcare workplace. I watched them grow and encouraged them to always be true to themselves. We were blessed last year for my child’s wedding with their loving spouse. The love, respect and absolute trust in each other can take ones breath away. We were also blessed that my mom was there to see this union, but sadly my mother passed away at the beginning of December. In May 2022 my child was experiencing difficulties in thought and word finding and speech and being able to convey this to others. My child who was working in the health field as a nurse part-time knew something was going on. They were frontline staff during covid and worked throughout the hospital on many different floors which required them to step up and fulfill positions higher up due to staff shortages because of covid. This they did without complaint as was trusted to be able to step in. Only being a part time nurse, benefits were not given. My child was diagnosed with a brain tumour that was the size of a fist which required brain surgery for removal which took place May 30, 2022. Thankfully we found out is was not cancerous but diagnosed as

Meningioma in their frontal lobe. The tumour was taken out yet pieces had to be left behind as damage to her brain would have occurred. It was later found out that due to its stage the tumour would regrow. We were told radiation would have to be done for six weeks from a Monday to a Friday which with sadness can not occur at the moment. My child suffered complications upon release from hospital which had multiple returns to the ER department. The last visit June 23rd resulted in readmission which resulted in second brain surgery that was done June 26th a day after her 35th birthday. Their bone had to be taken out due to infection and the flap was resealed. They were told for 4-8 weeks that IV treatment through a pic line would be needed before they could undergo a third surgery to put an acrylic plate in to replace the bone they lost. Radiation cannot occur until all steps completed and because of stage radiation may have to be every 6 months. EI sick benefits will run out August then nothing re income or prescription assistance. Please I request any help that could assist my child and their spouse. Our gratitude would could never be enough to put into words but our love would be sent to any and all. Thank you.
