Help for Colleen Thornborrow's Medical Bills
Donation protected
Hello,
My name is Lynnette (Muller) Jenkins and I am fundraising for my sister Colleen Thornborrow.
Known affectionately as "Cooks" by her husband Adrian (Swella), her sons Chad and Jordyn (bonus son Mason) & her girls Tara and Anita.
Colleen got sick suddenly with what was thought to be a flu type bug and eventually a cough/chest infection.
Within a few days our world turned upside down as Colleen rapidly deteriorated and had to be moved urgently from hospital in Maun, Botswana to Gaborone in order to save her life.
Colleen was airlifted in critical condition to I.C.U at Bokamoso Hospital in Gaborone Botswana.
Colleen has been in an induced coma on a Ventilator and other life saving treatment for the past week.
This continues in a bid by the ICU team to restore Colleen to full health.
She is fighting every day and we are not giving up on her!
She is a kind soul. One of the best!
A wife to her best friend, outdoor lover, doting mum, daughter, sister and friend to many.
Colleen has been a quiet giver, loved by many in her Maun community with a home open to all, never complains, always has a laugh and enjoys her music, fishing and loves her family and pets implicitly.
As a family we have come together to offset costs in a bid to cover her care now and going forward.
Life saving health care in Southern Africa remains insanely high on a daily basis.
The figures to save a life are astronomical and accumulate in this way on a daily basis
Join us in ensuring that finances are the last of the family's concern and we pray for healing, restoration and miracles galore in Colleen's life.
Through the years she has been a GIVER to many!
Now, we stand together to reciprocate at a time when she needs our faith, love and support.
- The air ambulance cost P107 000 Botswana Pula
- ICU daily costs for a patient on a ventilator are 21,000-00 Botswana Pula DAILY ( approx US $1600 -$1800 )
- Other accumulating costs include MRI'S, CAT Scans, Physio, blood tests and many other medical investigations/treatment.
- The Botswana Pula is approximately 9.90 to the Canadian dollar; bank rate as at 25 June 2024.
In closing, this will be a long journey to recovery for Colleen, Adrian and her boys.
We also ask that you keep Colleen in prayer to get through this.
Our world is so much a sad place without her usual calls, messages and funny giggles.
Feel free to reach out to her siblings for any further information as we respect Adrian, Chad and Jordyn's process in dealing with this.
Thank you all so much and God Bless.
