Help for Demontae Sherrill's Children and Family
Donation protected
Hello,
My name is Tamber Smith and I am creating this fundraiser on behalf of the Carter Lumber family for one of our very own, Terry Campbell. All funds will go directly to Terry Campbell and his sons 3 children.
Terry Campbell is a hardworking and dedicated driver for Carter Lumber. He is extremely valued and loved by all of us here at Carter Lumber.
On the morning of Tuesday May 18, 2023, a five-alarm fire broke out at a SouthPark construction site in Charlotte, NC. The construction site was a 239-unit luxury apartment building that had a wooden frame construction. In total, 15 workers had to be rescued and 2 workers lost their lives. One of those 2 was Terry Campbell's son, Demontae Sherrill. He and the other worker who lost their lives to the fire were on the site that day working to install doors.
I spoke on the phone with Terry Campbell briefly in regards to his son, asking him what he would like everyone to know about his son. Terry would like everyone who donates, or is considering donating, to know that his son was just starting to get himself back on track. He says that his son was a great father to his 3 children. He expressed that his son was only on his 3rd day on this new job when this tragedy occured. Demontae Sherrill was 30 years old.
Terry says his main concern moving forward is taking care of his grandchildren. All funds/donations raised through this GoFundMe will go to Terry directly so he can ensure his sons children are taken care of.
Any donations, small or large, are extremely appreciated. Please help Terry Campbell, his family, and his 3 grandchildren in any way you can. Thank you all so much.
Terry, your Carter Lumber family and so, so many others are here for you and your family, and please know that you have all of our thoughts and prayers with you and your whole family during this unimaginable time.
