Help for Diane Lusk

Diane Lusk's story was shared on CNN. As a local citizen in Dallas, the homelessness and joblessness is plaguing our local economy and is not only heartbreaking but now a reality for many of our family, friends, and neighbors. Diane's story touched myself and I'm sure many others. She is 60 years old working at Happy Eats, making Philly Cheese Steaks to make ends meet off of $11 an hour. As thankful as I'm sure she is for her new job after losing her last, times are still very hard. She came home one day to find the constable outside of her house with documents making her fear of an eviction a reality. As I watched her story unfold on CNN, I saw children's toys on her front porch, toys my young nieces and nephews play with everyday. It simply broke my heart to see her crying to the reporter, saying that prayers were all she could hope for, when clearly there is something that myself and others can do to help her, her children and grandchildren. We all are facing hard times as we cut corners to spend less or fear a call that we'll lose our jobs as well. But at such a difficult time, coming together to help those who are less fortunate than ourselves is something we all can do to make this world a more sympathetic and caring place. Let's help Diane.
