Help Dionne rebuild her life after tragic house fire
Donation protected
On Saturday 28th of September the unimaginable happened to Dionne and her family. In a normal afternoon Dionne’s flat went up in flames due to an electrical fault. It was only a matter of minutes until the whole flat was engulfed. Dionne lives in a highrise flat in Lawrence Hill, with her two children and regularly looks after her grandson in their family home. The panic that set in trying to alert everyone to leave the building whilst making sure all of her kids were ok was incredibly traumatic.
Dionne was then moved to a travel lodge in Emerson’s Green and is still there, a week later with no financial support to feed her family and unfortunately some days going without food for herself.
Everything in the flat is either burnt or smoke damaged. Her entire life, the belongings of her and her kids have been robbed from them in a tragic accident. This is going to take so much mental and physical strength to replace and try to start rebuilding her life again. Not only is this a mentally devastating event it is also draining financially.
Dionne is a big part of the Bristol community and is loved by so many. She’s always the first to help everyone and is a mother figure to a lot of people making everyone feel welcomed and loved. You will always find her on the door of a few venues round Bristol or at trinity cooking up her amazing food - The Jamaican Hideaway.
As a community we need to make her feel
the love that she so often gives out to everyone around her. Any help would be such a blessing. Let’s show Dionne and her family the love!
