Help for Emily 2023 -- Ayuda para Emily 2023

Marzo 22, 2023: Queremos agradecer a quienes estan organizando eventos y campañas que se realizaran en los proximos dias en beneficio de Emily. Apoyamos desde aqui todo lo que ya esta anunciado y en proceso de organizacion. Si bien lo que se recauda es extra al pago del tratamiento, es una tranquilidad para nosotros contar con esa ayuda para imprevistos y gastos propios de la logistica de estos meses aca en Singapur. Por eso, seguimos agradeciendo su generosidad y nos comprometemos a seguir informando la situacion de la familia en esta cruzada por la salud de Emily.

March 22, 2023: We want to thank everyone that is involved in organizing fundraising events and campaigns that will take place in the next few days to benefit Emily. From here in Singapore, we support everything that has been already announced and is in the process of being organized. Although what is collected is extra to the payment of the treatment, it provides us with peace of mind to have that extra financial help for unforeseen events and expenses related to the logistics of these months here in Singapore. For this reason, we continue to appreciate your generosity and we will continue reporting the situation of the family in this effort to improve Emily's health.

About one month ago, we received the news that Emily's disease had relapsed for the fifth time and we are distraught and without strength...

We pray to God for help during this difficult time...

After finding out about this, our friend David and his daughter Erin began contacting different hospitals that perform clinical trials on patients that have had a relapse after receiving the specific treatment that Emily received last June. We were overjoyed when we received a response from a doctor from Singapore. She and her medical team are willing to take Emily's case. The clinical trial they propose is to fight the disease through a receptor present in malignant white blood cells. This, of course, has its risks.

With much respect, both doctors let us make the decision for her care, knowing that either of the two options (staying here or traveling to Singapore) are very complex and risky at this point.

As parents we believe that it is best to schedule a trip to Singapore as soon as possible so we decided as a family to attempt this new challenge.

The budget for the Women's and Children's Hospital of Singapore has a value of 117,000 dollars (24,500,000 Argentine pesos).

We must collect this amount as soon as possible to access this treatment.

Regarding accommodations, thank God this morning we received a message that warmed our hearts: The Adventist Church in Singapore will lend us an apartment to stay in, and it is only 5 km from the hospital.

It is incredible to see how God is opening unexpected doors!

¿Cómo la miramos a los ojos y le decimos que ya no hay más esperanza? Que tiene el 90 % de su médula tomada y que nos vamos a casa a esperar que todo termine...

Hace un mes recibimos el resultado del regreso de su enfermedad por quinta vez y estamos angustiados y sin fuerzas...

Oramos a Dios por ayuda para transitar este tiempo...

Por alguna razón, nuestro amigo David y su hija Erin, iniciaron una búsqueda de alguna posibilidad para Emily .Existe un ensayo clínico que se está haciendo en algunos hospitales de vanguardia en el mundo.

Se utiliza en pacientes que tienen características muy particulares, como es el caso de Emily.

David escribió a todos estos hospitales. De la mayoría no recibió respuestas. Y las que recibió requerían muchos protocolos, tiempo, visas y dinero imposibles de resolver en corto plazo.

Pero hubo una respuesta que nos asombró:

Desde Singapur nos escribió una doctora. Ella y su equipo médico están dispuestos a atender el caso de Emily.

El ensayo clínico que proponen es combatir la enfermedad a través de un receptor presente en los glóbulos blancos malignos (blastos). Esto, desde luego, tiene sus riesgos.

Con mucho respeto ambas médicas nos dejaron decidir sabiendo que, a pesar de las posibilidades, cualquiera de las dos opciones (quedarnos aquí o viajar a Singapur) son muy complejas y arriesgadas a esta altura.

Como padres entendemos que lo mejor será programar un viaje lo antes posible rumbo a Singapur.

Decidimos como familia intentar este nuevo desafío, aún mayor que el de España, ya que no sabemos el idioma y queda del otro lado del mundo...

Emily ha luchado tanto y a superado tanto que bajar los brazos ahora no es una opción...

Hemos recibido el presupuesto del Hospital Womans and Childrens de Singapur.

Una vez más, ¡el desafío económico es muy grande!

El tratamiento tiene un valor de 117.000 dólares (24.500.000 pesos argentinos).

Debemos juntar esta cifra lo antes posible para poder acceder al tratamiento.

En relación con el alojamiento, gracias a Dios, esta mañana recibimos un mensaje que nos alegró el corazón: la Iglesia Adventista en Singapur nos prestará un departamento para quedarnos, y está a solo 5 km del hospital.

¡Es increíble ver cómo Dios va abriendo caminos impensados!

¡Por eso seguimos avanzamos de su mano!

¡Gracias, de todo corazón, por acompañarnos!

Sin tu ayuda, sería imposible continuar

Entre todos, es menos pesada la carga.
