Help for Emily Smith (Bellavia)

My sister Emily was diagnosed with an extremely rare and aggressive cardiac angiosarcoma in February. Her condition has deteriorated very quickly, and after only a few months we were told today that they are transitioning her to end of life care.

As it has only been a short few months of aggressive treatment, Emily and her husband have only received a few medical bills, but she is concerned about leaving the burden to her husband Matt.

We are asking that instead of flowers or cards or anything- to please donate to her cause to help ease these financial burdens and allow her husband to grieve without having to worry about finances.

The donations we receive will go directly to Matt and Emily’s bank account where they will save them for Matt to use for medical bills, personal bills, housing costs, hotel accommodations, food, and toward her memorial service. Any surplus of funds will be donated to the Hope Lodge in Rochester New York to help someone else during their battle with cancer. 

I would also like to add that many people are curious about the fees associated with Gofundme. They take only $0.33 per donation and a 2.9% service charge- which does not amount to very much considering how convenient and easy it has made this fundraising process.
