Hi, our names are Eric and Tiffany and we have an amazing boy named Ezra. He is now 8 months old and the light of our lives.
He was born on August 4th, 2021 after a very traumatic birth. He was 7 weeks early and spent over one month in the NICU.
He was also born with Down syndrome and an imperforate anus. He had his first surgery on August 5th, 2021 and his second on March 1st, 2022. His next surgery will most likely be in May.
The next several years will include bowel management which will help him properly learn how to use his bowels. He has High Imperforate Anus, which means there was no opening at the outside of the body and the bowel ends at the bottom of the pelvis. His first surgery was to give him an Ostomy so he can go to the bathroom into a bag. The second surgery was to rebuild the rectum and give him an anal opening. The third surgery will be to reverse the Ostomy and reconnect the bowel to the rectum.
He will need followups for the next several years after surgery and we made this GoFundMe to help give him the best possible chance at recovery and help him live a happy life as the amazing kid he is and is going to be!
