Help For Former Hyde House Employees

Hello, my name is Rich Connelly.

 

I have created this fundraiser to support former Hyde House employees affected by the unexpected closure of the Hyde House on April 20th, 2022. In addition to this, many employees got even worse news when they attempted to deposit their final paychecks - bounced checks due to Hyde House's insufficient funds.

 

For several months, my daughter was an employee at The Hyde House in Boise, Idaho. Unfortunately, she and many other employees had several payroll checks bounce due to insufficient funds during her time there (my daughter experienced this on FOUR separate occasions).

 

As of April 20th, 2022, there are at least 9 employees who have confirmed that they still not been paid for the hours they worked. To our knowledge, most of the affected employees have gone through the proper channels to contact the Department of Labor, filed claims and attempt to collect wages owed. This process does not guarantee that they will be able to collect said wages. It has been reported that the owners have not responded to the Department of Labor's attempts to communicate with them.

 

After initial promises from the owners to get the employees paid, the owners have completely ceased communications with former employees, leaving them without hundreds or thousands of dollars in due wages and struggling with overdraft fees and bills to pay.

 

Hyde House employed many young workers who were just getting out on their own and now face life-altering debts, hundreds of dollars in overdraft fees and potential credit issues that could plague them for years to come.

 

Please consider offing your support to those in our community who have been affected by this business' mismanagement and negligence.

 

How the funds will be distributed:

 

All former employees who had their payroll checks bounce will be reimbursed for the amount due.

 

If there are additional funds remaining after these lost wages have been reconciled, the money will be distributed evenly to those employees to support with any additional financial burdens created by this situation (over draft fees, bounced checks, late fees etc.)

 

If this fundraiser cannot collect enough money to satisfy all wages owed, the money will be distributed evenly based on the amount owed to each employee.
