Helping Helena to have Sweetie back home
Helena Wilkinson is a qualified Equine Facilitated Psychotherapist. Alongside her therapy pony, Sweetie, she has helped many people who have struggled with eating disorders and trauma related issues.
Almost 2 years ago, Helena had a horse riding accident resulting in life changing injuries; including a severe brain injury and multiple fractures to her spine, pelvis and shoulder.
Due to the impact of Helena’s injuries and her being hospitalised for many months, the difficult decision was made for Sweetie to be in the care of another Equine Therapist over 150 miles away.
Helena has made great progress and continues to gain strength. She is now in a position where having Sweetie back home will be beneficial for her ongoing recovery and an important first step in rebuilding their partnership, as Helena looks towards re-establishing her Equine Therapy work in the future.
Because Helena has been unable to work since the accident, she doesn’t have the funds to cover the cost of the assisted livery that she will initially require as she & Sweetie rebuild their relationship & necessary skills in the months ahead.
I’d love to raise enough money to bring Sweetie back home to the safe & accessible yard close to Helena, with ideal facilities and support. I’d like to cover the transport cost home for Sweetie and a year’s livery. The total is £3,500.
Bringing Sweetie home will help Helena to build a brighter future. Will you join me in supporting her in this way?
All monies raised will go directly into The Equine Trust Fund.
