Help for Irma and her family

My name is Bethany Letiecq and I am a professor at George Mason University. My colleagues and I have been working in partnership with a community organization called Amigas de la Comunidad (Friends of the Community) since 2014. Together we conduct research and take action to promote the health and well-being of a local Central American immigrant community.  We recently learned that  Finino, a community member, husband  to Irma, and father of two (family pictured), was run over by a big work truck at a construction site. He broke several bones in his body and has had 11 operations to date. He has been in the hospital for 3 weeks and is expected to be in there at least another 2 weeks. Once released, he will still be in recovery and will need therapy to walk again. We have no idea when he will return to work. The family has no health insurance and will be expected to pay for the hospital costs and therapy out of pocket. 
 
Irma goes to visit and care for Finino in PG Hospital every day (she lives in northern VA). They have a 10 year old and 9 month old. Irma works 2 nights a week. She said diapers (size 5), wipes, and Similac would be a big help. She also said she is worried about the rent that is due soon.  She has been picking up the food resources from the school, but has not received other food or rent assistance. 
 
Irma gave me permission to create a go fund me page to help her family.  Please help if you can. I will take 100% of donated funds to Irma as the funds come in so she can provide for her family. From all of us at Amigas de la Comunidad, thank you for your generosity. ¡Muchas gracias!
