Help for Isaacs cancer treatment

Donation protected
My name is Isaac. In January, I was diagnosed with Stage 2 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. In less than two weeks after initial scans, I underwent surgery in February to remove the inflamed lymph node, and in early March, a Port was placed.

Since enlisting in 2018, I have served as a 68W Medic in the VA Army National Guard, participating in five stateside activations, including Operation Capitol Relief and Operation Lonestar, as well as deployment in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, CJTF-HOA (2021-2022), primarily at a combat outpost in Somalia. My passion for serving in the Army drives my desire to continue my military career, with aspirations of pursuing Special Forces selection in the future, despite this setback.

Navigating the mental and physical challenges of treatment, which began in March with ABVD Chemotherapy administered twice a month for six months, has been demanding. Despite this, I am committed to maintaining my physical and mental well-being through regular exercise such as running, weightlifting, disc golf, and pickleball.

Prior to my diagnosis, an active lifestyle and nutritious diet were foundational to my life, and I remain dedicated to these practices throughout this journey.

I am determined to stay resilient during treatment to expedite my recovery and resume my military service, aspiring to return to a sense of normalcy.

For the past seven years, my professional endeavors have been rooted in healthcare, spanning from pre-hospital EMS to my current role at a Level 1 Trauma Center within the Military Medic and Corpsman program (MMAC), established by the Department of Veteran Services. MMAC provides an avenue for medics and corpsmen to apply their military training and education in civilian healthcare roles. Caring for others is my vocation, and I aim to perpetuate my career in healthcare once I have completed this treatment regimen.

“Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. If you love what you are doing, you will be successful.”
