Help For Jesse Mahan
Hi, Its Kristin.
About 3 weeks ago, Jesse started experiencing moderate to severe upper abdominal pain. Eventually Jesse was experiencing pain severe enough that he was seen in the Emergency Room at PeaceHealth Southwest.
After multiple scans, blood work and tests, the ER staff assumed that Jesse may have an ulcer of some sort and released him with medications for constipation and acid reflux.
Jesse then made appointments with his primary care Dr. and had multiple labs done and was schedule for a gallbladder test.
Flash forward to now... Yesterday, Jesse's pain level was so high that we took him to the Emergency room at Legacy Salmon Creek Hospital.
After many blood tests, scans and pain medications, Jesse found out that he has and extremely rare infection in his spine.
Jesses official diagnosis is:
Discitis/osteomyelitis at T8-T9 with anterior phlegmon, an anterior epidural abscess/phlegmon,
This infection is causing him excruciating pain and he is currently admitted to the hospital for in patient treatment.
Here shortly, he will be going in for a spinal biopsy to determine what type of infection is in his bones so it can be treated properly.
As of right now, Jesse's Dr's are expecting him to be in the hospital for 3-4 days, then will remain on an IV pump at home on antibiotics for a minimum of 6 weeks.
We are asking for donations to help offset finances while Jesse is out of work. We are currently looking into other programs such as the WAFMLA program, though that program has a waiting and processing period.
We will figure out how to pay his medical bills later, right now our concern is making sure we can pay the mortgage and current expenses, as Kristin's income can not cover this alone.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
