This awesome man, Johnny El Bandolero - whom we all appreciate, love, and adore his music - had his world turn upside down on Sunday, January 9, 2022, as he suddenly began hemorrhaging through his nose hours and was taken by ambulance to Gottlieb Memorial Hospital in Melrose Park, Illinois at 5:30 p.m. After a detailed examination and tests by the medical staff in the Emergency Room, he was transferred to AMITA Health Resurrection Medical Center in Chicago. There, the doctors determined Johnny had Epistaxis. This condition may be due to bleeding from the anterior or posterior nasal passage. Anterior bleeding is more common, but posterior bleeding is more dangerous and is managed differently. Johnny was intubated to treat and stop the bleeding with a balloon. Johnny’s battle became harder as he lost a great amount of blood. Johnny has a long battle ahead, but we are confident our Bandolero will overcome this battle and soon will be singing and performing again. As you might imagine, Johnny has been literally crushed by this unexpected health adversity.
