Help for Joost family, dad in hospital!
Donation protected
Chris Joost is a Police Officer in Central Texas who was injured at work in February 2020. While dealing with this injury, in early June he became ill with symptoms similar to COVID-19, however tested negative and was diagnosed with community acquired pneumonia. After multiple rounds of antibiotics and trips to the Dr. Chris was hospitalized on July 13’th. At the same time his employer notified him that he was out of time off and would have to take leave without pay. While in the hospital it was determined that Chris had a particularly nasty strain of antibiotic resistant bacterial pneumonia and will need to be in the hospital at least 8 days as well as needing to be off work for a short period after release. Chris and his family have 4 daughters and will need help with what is sure to be large medical bills as well as the family not receiving his pay which they rely upon to pay bills. On Sunday, July 19’th Chris was notified that the infection had possibly infected his heart causing ventricular tachycardia which means the bottom half of the heart beats faster than the top. Dr’s are hoping that once the infection is gone medications will help reverse this. Chris has devoted his life to helping others and now needs some help for his family himself.
