Help for Julie & Ben

Donation protected
On Wednesday morning, March 3, Julie and Ben experienced a house fire.  It is believed that the fire started as a flue fire from the wood burning stove. It spread across the attic space of their home and most of the ceilings had to be torn out to ensure the fire was fully extinguished. Unfortunately the home did withstand water damage as well. We are thankful to both the Elliston Fire Department and the Roanoke County Fire Department for being so quick to save the house and for all of the support and guidance they've provided! While thankfully everyone is okay and most of their possessions can be salvaged or will be replaced, insurance has estimated they will be without a residence for at least the next 6 months until the damages to the home can be repaired.

We have been asked by numerous members of our community for a way to help. While we've been unsure of how to do that, we decided that this page would be the easiest way. The funds raised will be used for food, immediate needs and the replacement of lost income! Funds will go straight to Julie Whitt. While monetary donations are more than appreciated, we also request prayers for peace, understanding and patience throughout this long process!

Thank you so much for your concern and willingness to jump in and do all that you can to help. It makes you grateful to be part of such a close-knit community.
