Help for Katy and Tyler

Donation protected
Hello friends and family of Katy and Tyler Bone! As most of you know, their precious baby boy Barrett was born June 14th. He has had a rough start at life so far but is such a warrior baby and with God’s help and miracles happening, he is fighting so hard.

Katy and Tyler are having to make the hardest decisions of their life regarding his medical care. They are driving at least 2 hours a day back and forth to the hospital to be with Barrett. The gas money, eating out, bills, medical bills and all of the other costs while not working as surely adding up.

They could use all of the prayers they can get and any monetary donation for them will be extremely helpful. They have enough stresses right now and money should not be one of them. Anything you can donate will be appreciated.

Here is a little more detailed information that Tyler posted today (July 7th) about what is currently going on with Barrett...

"Survival mode" is the only way I can describe the way we've felt as a family this week. I don't know how we would make it this far without the sense of peace we have through out pouring of love and prayers for us and our sweet Barrett.

No updates the past few days because we have just been in shock and awe. I won't get too awful technical just because I don't think I have the mental capacity to do so.

Here we go: Wednesday we found out from the biopsy that Barrett has a cellular disorder in his lungs that makes oxygen exchange in his lungs impossible. Even with heavy support he would not survive off of ECMO. The one and only treatment for this disorder is lung transplant. Which is near impossible on a new born.

We have been told there are initially no red flags for not making it onto the transplant list. And Barrett has a long list of labs and tests to pass in order to become a candidate.

At one point on Friday we were crossing things off his list. Neurologists told the transplant doctors that they would sign off on not taking him to CT because he has not shown any signs of bleeds or clots in his brain. Well transplant wanted it anyway and we were going to travel to CT "just to do it" basically. Everyone was expecting negative results... Well a couple hours go by and the doctors came to our room for a surprise meeting. They sat us down and told us Barrett has a small brain bleed and a clot as well. This would make him ineligible for the transplant list. We went to his room, prayed and cried over him as they did an ultrasound of his head to pinpoint the clot they saw on CT. Well a few minutes go by and they can't find the clot and we are told we will continue on with testing him to see if he will be a candidate. Holy whiplash!

Emotionally wrecked, doctor after doctor and nurse after nurse came in to talk to us and say this never happens. And how in shock they were with the back and forth and how they are emotionally distressed over this and how they can't imagine being in our shoes.

Things like this keep happening and are exhausting to say the least. Our light of hope for our son has gone from a huge window all the way down to the size of a needle. All we need is a tiny glimpse of hope to keep on going. We serve a big God and one who can fix this and give Barrett health and peace. We are thankful for days with him and pray for a miracle still. The doctor said he has insurmountable odds against him. Well we serve an insurmountable God and my son's one heck of a fighter. To God be the glory, forever and ever amen.

On behalf of Katy and Tyler, thank you in advance for all of the prayers and donations!
