Help for Kim and Mike

Dear friends and family,

One week ago today, on Sunday, June 25th, my brother-in-law, Mike, suffered a devastating stroke - an acute subdural hematoma in his brain. We were told last Sunday that chances of survival were low. Post-craniotomy, he fought hard, survived, and is making progress. However, it is slow, and they have unimaginable challenges ahead.

Mike is currently in the ICU, hoping to move to an intermediate floor and possibly acute rehabilitation in the coming weeks/months. He and my sister, Kim, have three children and made their home in Texas nine years ago. Living far from family has always been tough, but currently, it is one of our greatest challenges.

Kim is steadfast by Mike’s bedside. She is trying to take things one moment at a time and exudes a profound faith in God. Understandably, she is overwhelmed by the details and burdens on her shoulders. On behalf of my Mom, Dad, and Sara, we are calling out to our larger community for your specific love, prayers, and support for Mike, Kim, and their children. I will try to share updates as Kim would like, but for now, our plea is asking if you will help them if you are able. This goal will help them bridge a financial gap over the next six months.

Kim and Mike have dedicated their lives to helping others. While meeting their generosity is a hard match, I know we can pull together and lift them up during this terrifying time. We will not forget your stepping up for them.
