Help for Landon and Ashley

Donation protected
Ashley is a single mom of a 7 year old boy, Landon, whose story is anything from ordinary. Landon was born at 24 weeks weighing 1lb 2oz. He spent 103 days in the NICU. While in the NICU Landon had his first surgery at just over 2lbs, a heart surgery to close a valve in his heart that is supposed to close before you're born. Landon was discharged from the NICU on oxygen and remained on oxygen 24/7 until he was 18 months and then was on oxygen at night until he was a little over 2 years old. He had severe issues swallowing and was placed on a feeding tube before his first first birthday. Landon is still fed via feeding tube today, a j tube (bypasses his stomach) not only due to swallowing issues but also due to severe GI issues that have impacted his system.

Landon is medically complex, which means that he has multiple health conditions that require a team of doctors to care for him. Some of Landon's health conditions include a primary immune deficiency, a rare neuro genetic developmental disorder, Chron's disease, protein losing enteropathy, intestinal malrotation and more. Landon has had numerous surgeries including two major abdominal surgeries, countless scopes and sedated procedures, endless X-rays. He has spent his life in and out of the hospital for inpatient hospital stay, outpatient treatment, doctors appointments or therapies. When Landon gets sick he tends to get really sick and it usually leads do a hospital stay. He also receives infusions every couple of weeks, he started receiving IVIG infusions for his immune deficiency at the age of 2 and has received them every 3-4 weeks since then.

On top of Landon's health issues he also has developmental delays due to his rare genetic disorder. This causes low tone and his fine motor, gross motor and speech delays. He will sometimes use a wheelchair for long distances as his legs will hurt and his body tires. Ashley quit her job while Landon was in the NICU and have stayed home with him since. It has not been easy but God has always found a way to provide for them, most recently she has done work as a virtual assistant.

On Wednesday, November 15th, Landon went to the ER due to his feeding tube coming out. Because the department that handles replacing the tube only works M-F 9-5 and they were backed up, he ended up in the hospital for 2 days until it could be replaced. By Friday he was starting to feel ill and was diagnosed with RSV. He was discharged home on Saturday, but only made it at home 2 hours before returning to the hospital. He ended up with RSV and pneumonia and due to his lung issues, he was struggling to breathe. His says where low and he was put in high flow oxygen which he was unable to tolerate. At that point they had no choice but to intubate him and put him on a ventilator. They had trouble keeping him sedated so he is now on a paralytic to allow him to rest and give his body a chance to heal. He is currently still on the ventilator and stable.

We are raising money for any medical bills incurred as well as to help with any other bills or needs as Ashley is currently unable to work during his illness and recovery.
