Update on Lilya

Yesterday Lilya underwent a left eye vitrectomy to remove a build up of blood that has been causing visual loss since she was in the coma. Next week Lilya will have the repeat procedure on her right eye.
After this, once her blood count is at a suitable level she will be given medical clearance to fly home to Perth, where she will be transferred to Perth Children’s Hospital to meet the oncology team and hopefully commence chemotherapy.
All of your prayers, well wishes and thoughts of Lilya have helped her to this point.
There’s a tremendous road to recover ahead and your ongoing support by caring, sharing or donating will continue to assist Lilya be supported by Tahnya in Perth through this long journey ahead...

Hi, my name is Daisy. I’m sharing this story to raise much needed funds for my dear friend and her daughter Lilya. I met Lilya as a tiny baby through Mother’s group. Her mother Tahnya and my friendship was instant and my daughter and Lilya have been best friends for over 5 years. This family are in need of your help and kindness to help get them through this. Please donate any amount small or large you may have to spare to help this family in need get through this incredibly tough time.

Lilya is a clever, sweet and caring 5 year old girl who was due to start Year 1 in Term 1, 2025. She is now in hospital in France with Leukaemia and unable to commence treatment or travel home as she is unstable and unwell.

Lilya’s parents travelled with a healthy happy cheeky Lilya to France in December 2024 to visit an unwell family member, her grandmother she’s only met once before. The family have no other support in France.

Christmas Day Lilya woke up and didn’t have the energy to open Christmas presents she was lethargic but there was no real explanation. She saw a doctor who thought she had the flu. Within 24 hours Lilya was raced 2 hours by ambulance and admitted to the children’s hospital where she was placed in an induced coma for heart and liver failure. Blood tests soon showed that Lilya has B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukaemia.

Lilya is too unwell to travel home and is unable to commence chemotherapy.

She’s had numerous blood transfusions and spent two weeks in ICU with her family by her bedside.

She’s on the oncology ward and fluctuating day by day.

It’s unknown when Lilya will be able to return to Australia.
Her Aplastic anemia (bone marrow aplasia) is so severe she is unable to leave her room to see others or go outside.

This Go Fund Me Page is to assist with the expenses incurred from being away from home for an unplanned extended period of time, the ongoing house payments due in Perth, and eventually any expenses related to getting Lilya home and supporting the family to care for Lilya without financial stress in such a critical situation.

Please from the bottom of your heart, help Lilya and her family get through this awful time and bring Lilya home as soon as she is well enough.
