Help for Mom During Battle with Cancer
Greetings,
We are fundraising for Brenda, who all of us love and care for. She was recently diagnosed with cancer and began her chemo/radiation treatment during the end of July.
The type of cancer she has is totally curable but unfortunately the most painful. We are at the beginning of this journey and have found Mom needs around the clock care.
The stairs where she lives has become undoable and the level of pain has became unbearable. The pain meds Mom is taking (plus we believe, combined with sadness and grief) has caused mental confusion and extreme anxiety.
For the next couple of months, we believe Mom should be at a facility that can provide the space for her to fully recover and return to her natural beautiful self.
My sister and I have found, what we believe to be the perfect location (opened and ran by a RN whose Mom went through a similar journey)where she will receive around the clock care by trained staff who believe in providing holistic care closely alongside with her medical team already in place.
We tried wholeheartedly to provide the love and a level of care we had to give and have found we honestly need help. Mom’s treatment had to pause due to the mental confusion and dehydration that now has Mom in the hospital. We hope to be able to transfer her directly from the hospital to this facility this week.
That is why we are reaching out to you for support during this time - to assist us with making this transfer happen. We cannot imagine Mom trying to get up and down the stairs in such a weak state, where it once took seconds now takes almost an hour.
The facility is $3800 a month (plus an additional fee determined after she is fully assessed by the facility director). We will still be taking her to her daily treatment appointments but may also need the support of a caregiver who we have been working with. We believe Mom will need to stay there about two months to reach this finish line with health and wellness.
Anything you are able to donate is fully appreciated. We will continue to keep all of you updated as we continue alongside Mom during this journey.Thank you for your time.
With love, Deanna
