Help for my dads cancer & heart surgery expenses

A few months ago my family got the news that nobody ever wants to hear. My dad, Mike, went in for a minor knee injury and came out with a stage 4 prostate cancer diagnosis. A complete shock to all of us. It feels like a bad dream and I can’t believe I’m even writing this about someone I love so much.

This diagnosis alone was heartbreaking and incredibly scary for our whole family. Fast forward about another month and the doctors came back with more results. They found that he had a heart valve that needed surgery. We are so thankful this was caught before anything happened to him but we are now faced with a pretty immediate reality of him having to undergo open heart surgery before they will start any form of cancer treatment.

It pains me to see what my parents are having to endure because of all of this. With all the medical expenses and not being able to work, they are considering selling their home to pay down some expenses.
