Help for my daughter, Jasmine
Donation protected
Hi. My name is Martha and this is my daughter Jasmine. She is 23 years old, my youngest of four children and she is so sweet.
In July of 2022, Jasmine had a bad headache and was having some trouble finding the words to say what she wanted to say. I was at work, so her brother took her to a clinic and they said nothing was wrong. Her symptoms continued so he took her to the hospital. When I got off work, I met them at the hospital. They did an MRI and found that she had a left frontal opercular high-grade glioma tumor in her brain.
We were referred to Swedish hospital for surgery where they removed as much of her tumor as they could. They then referred her to Children's Hospital where for one year they treated her with chemotherapy and radiation. We went to the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City for a second opinion.
We are continuing chemotherapy but also took Jasmine to Costa Rica to seek an alternative treatment of high doses of Vitamin C. Her father and brother stayed there with her for nearly a month. She needs to continue this treatment for two more months. Her father is taking care of Jasmine full time so is unable to work and I work at the Olympia Food Co-op. My insurance covers her chemo treatments, but not her alternative treatment.
The medicine and the travel costs a lot and we need support in keeping Jasmine moving toward health. We love her dearly and she has a lot of living left to do. Thank you for your help.
