Help for my daughter Sam with her fight against brain cancer
Donation protected
Sam said from the beginning she didn’t want people to know she was ‘poorly’ and wanted to carry on as normal as possible with minimal fuss. But as more people are beginning to find out and she is beginning to lose hair it’s all becoming more obvious.
As some people are aware Sam was diagnosed with two brain tumors just before Christmas. In January she had brain surgery at John Radcliffe where some Of the tumor was able to be removed but not all, from the biopsy she was informed it is stage 3 cancer. She is currently in the middle of 6.5 weeks of daily radiopherapy and will then have minimum of 6 months of chemotherapy before the next stages of treatment is decided.
Obviously besides from all of the worry of her health and her kids if she were to not be around she is facing hair loss and change and losing herself and her identity.
We are now trying to raise funds where possible to relieve the financial pressure of what is to come over the next few months/year or so.
Sam has been quoted £2000-£4000 for a human hair wig from various different places. For anyone with long hair especially middle aged girls you can imagine how important this is to at least try to look some sort of normal and to take the just some of the pressures away of the fight.
If we are lucky enough to source a wig and have any extra funds available any extra money raised will allow sam to make family memories with the children from days out and small get aways between treatment when she is feeling upto it.
Prognosis is currently so varied but we are aware this is a life limiting condition so for now making memories are crucial.
We will also be looking into the possibility of trying to do some fundraising events and Sam’s brother Paul has already started this process with many challenges set ahead for him raising funds for the brain tumor research charity.
We really appreciate cost of living is high and everyone has there own financial pressures, Any help in small donations and sharing this page would be greatly appreciated.
