Help for my fathers life saving medical bills

Donation protected
On 01/28/2023 my father, Jamie, suddenly fell ill. I'd never seen him so sick, but he's always been extremely stubborn and refused to go to the doctor. We thought he'd just caught a bad stomach flu, as my mother, Claudia, and I had been sick a week prior. In just 72 hours, we watched my father get sicker and sicker, not knowing he was slowly bleeding to death.

At 2AM on 01/31/2023, my father collapsed in the hallway. He was taken by ambulance to our local hospital, where he was then life flighted to St. Marys Hospital in Duluth, MN.

When we were headed to Duluth, we had no clue if he would pull through or if we would be going to say our goodbyes.

He was intubated and had his spleen removed. It had grown 3-4x the normal size and was cancerous. He'd also lost 5/6 liters of blood from the spleen bleeding into his abdomen and required multiple blood and platelet transfusions. He also had a subdural hematoma on the back of his head from the fall in the hallway.

Thankfully, He's going to be making a full recovery, just with a compromised immune system now.

My father was discharged 02/06/2023 and finally came home. As of 02/10/2023, We're still waiting on the results of his bone marrow biopsy and we're hoping the cancer hasn't spread anywhere else in his body. Right now, we're just grateful to have him home and are spending a lot of quality time as a family.

My mom and I both work, but are currently unable to because my father requires 24/7 care, and my father hasn't been able to work for a few years due to to effects of previous health issues. Despite that, my parents do not qualify for medical assistance, and we haven't had insurance for many years because we couldn't afford it.

We've already started receiving medical bills, which includes an over $78,000 life flight. We still haven't received bills for his actual ICU stay, the biopsy, etc etc. We're going to try to reach out to whatever resources we can, but these things are looming over our heads currently.

The fundraising goal will probably be adjusted based on what help we can get and what bills come in, but any help is greatly appreciated.
