Help for my mom who just lost her entire home.

Hi, We are seeking help for our mother Laura who just lost her entire home along with everyhing in it in Fort Myers, Florida. Her entire neighborhood and surrounding mobile home was directly in the path of where Hurricane Ian made landfall.

Thankfully she was not there, and is alive and safe, although little remains of her home other than a slab with half of one bedroom still standing.

I am so grateful that she and the rest our family is safe through this nightmare. The damage this storm has left is absolutely heartbreaking, devastating and surreal.

I am working with friends and nearby family to help her in demolition of the remains, and to help her in beginning to cover expenses related to the total loss of her home and all of her belongings as she only had time to leave with the clothing she had on, her cat, and nothing else.

Because of the age of her home, she was not eligible to be covered under homeowners insurance.

Her neighborhood remains without power, water and gas and we don't expect it for awhile as many of the power lines and county water lines will need to be completely rebuilt. I am making arrangements to bring in supplies but resources are scarce in that area at this time.

If you can help in anyway on behalf of our mother and us we would greatly appreciate anything in order to assist her. Many of you have already been asking how you can help, so we felt as this was the best way to be able to get her the help she needs the fastest way possible.
