Help For Our Dad. Ayuda para nuestro papá.

Glenda, Brenda, Tati, and in the company of our mother contact you through this platform to ask for financial help for the recovery of our dad.

Miguel Angel González, our dad, suffered a heart attack on November 18th. He was admitted to the El Retiro Polyclinic in San Antonio de Los Altos, Venezuela, where he was in intensive care for five days. Unfortunately, the doctors performed two cardiac catheterizations without any success. The arteries on the left side of the heart are 100% blocked, and those on the right side are up to 85% compromised in certain areas. These obstructions are significantly affecting his regular blood flow supply. Dr. Adrian Parra, an interventional cardiologist, decided it was best to refer him to a cardiovascular surgeon to evaluate his condition. After the two cardiac catheterizations, our dad was quite limited. Little bodily efforts and regular activities are causing angina pectoris, which indicates the imminent possibility of a new heart attack.

On November 24th, he was transferred to “Clínica El Ávila” in Caracas. After reviewing an echocardiogram report, the cardiovascular surgeon treating him, Dr. Giambattista La Forgia, considered the need to perform open-heart surgery to replace the mitral valve and to perform 3 to 4 bypasses urgently. This operation is necessary for him to maintain quality of life in the long run.

On November 26th, he was discharged from the clinic and is now on complete bed rest with strict medical treatment to help him prepare for the subsequent surgery, which will be scheduled for December 5th. He is in good spirits, optimistic, cheerful, and eager to live.

Our dad doesn't have health insurance, and to date, we have had the possibility of covering all the interventions, hospitalizations, medicines, and ambulance costs, adding to a total that exceeds $30,000. Unfortunately, we have run out of resources, and that is why we request the help of all of you. The surgery that will be done costs approximately $50,000. This amount includes surgery, ICU, and hospitalization. Subsequently, he will need cardiovascular therapies three times a week for at least two months and lifelong medical treatment. For this reason, our goal is to raise $60,000.

Miguel Angel González, nuestro papá, sufrió un infarto agudo el pasado 18 de noviembre. Fue ingresado en la Policlínica El Retiro en San Antonio de los Altos y allí estuvo en terapia intensiva durante cinco días. Le realizaron dos cateterismos sin éxito alguno. Las arterías del lado izquierdo del corazón están bloqueadas en un 100% y las del lado derecho están comprometidas hasta en un 85% en ciertas áreas. Estas obstrucciones y una lesión de tronco le impiden el flujo sanguíneo de manera regular. El Dr. Adrián Parra, cardiológo intervencionista, decidió que era mejor remitirlo a un cirujano cardiovascular para evaluar su condición. Luego de los dos cateterismos, nuestro papá quedó bastante limitado. Esfuerzos menores le están provocando angina de pecho y esto indica la posibilidad inminente de un nuevo infarto.

El pasado jueves, 24 de noviembre, fue trasladado a la clínica El Ávila en Caracas. Allí se le realizó un ecocardiograma y el cirujano cardiovascular que lo está tratando, el doctor Giambattista La Forgia, considera que es urgente hacerle una cirugía de corazón abierto para reemplazar la válvula mitral y colocar 3 ó 4 bypasses. Esta operación es absolutamente necesaria para que él continúe con nosotros con calidad de vida.

El sábado, 26 de noviembre, fue dado de alta y se encuentra en casa en reposo absoluto con un tratamiento médico estricto que lo ayudará a prepararse para la cirugía dentro una semana. Él se encuentra de muy buen ánimo, muy optimista, muy positivo y con muchas ganas de vivir.

Nuestro papá no cuenta con seguro médico. Hasta la fecha nosotras hemos tenido la posibilidad de cubrir la totalidad de las intervenciones, hospitalización, medicinas y ambulancias, sumando un total que sobrepasa los $30.000, pero lamentablemente se nos agotaron los recursos y es por ello que solicitamos la ayuda de todos ustedes. La cirugía que se hará en una semana, con el favor de Dios, cuesta $50.000 aproximadamente. Esto incluye la cirugía, el cuidado intensivo y la hospitalización. Posteriormente, él necesitará terapias cardiovasculares tres veces por semana por dos meses aproximadamente y un tratamiento médico de por vida. Por esta razón nuestra meta es recaudar $60.000.
