Help for our friends Barbara and Mike Thum

Hi this is Ted Holman. I am a very good friend of Barbara and Mike Thum. Barbara had a very bad episode at her home the first part of December. Mike called an ambulance and they took her to River Region Hospital. Barbara was unconscious and very unresponsive. They placed her in an induced coma and inserted a breathing tube a lung tube and a feeding tube. Barbara stayed like this for 37 days before they could start waking her up. They transferred her to

Select Hospital in Jackson where she is now. They removed the final tube which was her feeding tube just the other day and Barbara is getting better daily. She will stay at Select until the 27th and then will hopefully be transferred to Methodist Rehab for up to two months to regain her body functions such as speech, walking and swallowing. The constant daily drives to and from the hospitals and all of the expenses that are incurred has taken its toll on the finances they receive from retirement and social security. Mike and Barbara have been responsible for raising money for so many people that I knew if everyone knew they would be glad to help them in this time of need.
