Help for our mother, Sue
Donation protected
Hey everyone.
My brother and I are reaching out because our mother, Sue Tighe has become very ill. Over the past couple years, she has been on and off work due to intense migraines, fatigue, and depression. Although she made numerous visits to her doctors, they could not figure out what was causing this.
Recently, her symptoms became much more severe and she has been off of work since June due to severe body pain, trouble formulating words, memory loss, tremors, and now cannot walk without a cane.
My mom began to do research on her symptoms and found that many women around Canada and the US were experiencing similar symptoms and were diagnosed with what is called Breast Implant Illness (BII). www.breastimplantillness.com Additionally, she found out that there are major issues on the brand of implants that she has. In taking this research to her doctor and neurologist, they agreed that the faulty implants are likely causing her symptoms and that they need to be removed in order for her to regain her health.
She recently had an urgent consultation with a plastic surgeon and they agreed to perform the procedure (Bilateral Capsulectomy). Unfortunately, OHIP has not recognized BII as an illness, and she would have to pay out of pocket.
Due to the large cost of the surgery, the loss of her income and the cost of the supplements she needs to reduce her whole body inflammation, we are reaching out for financial assistance to help with the above costs. Based on availability, the earliest that this surgery can be done is November 5, 2019.
It would be amazing if everyone could share this. Matthew and I would greatly appreciate your help.
Thank you,
Maighan and Matt
