Help for our sweet Camille!
Many of you know that Camille Fuller has been fighting multiple myeloma for over 16 years. She was diagnosed on Good Friday of 2004, when her son Owen was just 14 months old. After undergoing a grueling treatment 6 hours away from home in Arkansas, including 6 rounds of 96-hour chemotherapy and 2 bone marrow transplants, she spent years in complete remission. The cancer reared its ugly head in October of 2018 and she’s been in active treatment since then.
On January 11th, while at UAB for radiation, her femur broke. Just simply broke, weak from the cancer. She spent a truly horrific 5 weeks in the hospital, suffering from ICU psychosis for the first full week. She is finally home, and now the real work begins.
The best way we can help her and her family right now is to try to alleviate some of the financial burden so that she can focus on the fight ahead of her without worry. Her first round of cancer left them with a staggering load of medical debt, and now it’s piling up all over again. Here’s a list of just some of the expenses and bills they’re incurring as a result of the cancer:
*Basic hospital costs
*x-rays in hospital
*labs, meds, & food in hospital
*anesthesiologist from surgery
*surgeon
*home equipment (wheelchairs, canes, grabber, slings)
*physical therapy
*co-pays (orthopedist, oncologist)
*labs twice a week
*parking
*prescriptions
*ongoing treatment
*and, as Camille says, “stupid special shoes to learn how to walk again”
If you know Camille, you know that she loves to help people but is no fan of asking for help. The goal we’ve set is a drop in the bucket, I’m afraid, of what their expenses will ultimately be. But I know that whatever you can give will be so helpful and so very appreciated! So many of you have asked what you can do. First, pray. Second, donate.
