Help For Pine Creek Rd. Flooding Victims
Severe flooding on Pine Creek Rd.
On July 11, 2019, torrential downpours flooded homes, business and roadways in the North Hills of Pittsburgh. Unfortunately for a young couple and their two-year-old son who had JUST moved into this house on Pine Creek Rd. - the waters kept rising and rising to the point where they had to be rescued by our town's swift water rescue crew. The Schweiger family had just purchased this home through an estate sale and were new to the area. The previous owners did not disclose the flooding situation at the home because it was purchased through an estate sale. The young couple was unaware of the flooding dangers that this home brought with it. Pine Creek left its banks on the morning of July 11, 2019, flooding the home to the first floor. They lost two water heaters, washer, dryer and possibly the furnace unit.
Access McCandless has helped flooding victims in our community in the past. This flooding situation is extreme - this wasn't a few inches - this flood was measured in feet. We'd like to help our new neighbors by assisting them in getting back on their feet after this devastating flood.
Neighbors helping neighbors. It's what we do here in McCandless.
Access McCandless asks for your assistance - no matter how large or small, every dollar will go directly to these residents to help them recover from this disaster.!
