Help for Rice family after Chris’s accident
Donation protected
Hello everyone. As some of you may know, my husband Chris was in a severe dirt bike accident on Sunday, March 17th while riding at a track with a group of friends. I received a call from a friend of his on his phone saying that he had a pretty bad wreck and that I needed to head to the hospital. Once there, we received X-ray results that he shattered his right collarbone into 6 pieces, his left ankle is broken on both sides and he has road rash down his back. Both his ankle and collarbone will need surgery which will have extensive recovery times as well as a lengthy amount of physical therapy. Chris is a disabled combat veteran who spent 10 years in the Marine Corps with multiple deployments overseas. He has VA healthcare but it doesn’t cover anything that isn't a service related injury. Thankfully, we were able to get him medical insurance today, 3/19. He is going to be out of work for quite a while so we are asking friends, family and even strangers to help by donating and/or sharing! We have pets as well as 2 kids, 14 and 17. Our 17 year old is getting ready to graduate and shortly after, be heading to college. This couldn’t have come at a worse time for our family. We’re thankful to receive his disability compensation monthly but it doesn’t fully cover our monthly bills, groceries, gas or any other expenses we typically have. I’m not really sure how to write these things so I’m just laying everything out there on the line. We appreciate any and all help, nothing is too small. Thank you!!
