Help for Savanah and Melissa
Donation protected
With heavy hearts we are reaching out for your assistance to help us help one of our own. On December 7th Officer Melissa France became infected with COVID. A week later she was admitted to the ICU at Oswego Hospital and was subsequently placed on a ventilator. Melissa was transferred to SUNY Upstate hospital on December 27th and was placed on an ECMO machine which would allow her heart and lungs to rest. Melissa’s condition is critical, and we are all praying for a miracle to help heal her lungs and get her home.
Officer Melissa France is a Navy Veteran and single mother to her 19 year old daughter Savanah. She has been employed with the Oswego County Sheriffs Office for the past ten years. She was most recently assigned to the Corrections Division Transport Platoon.
Over the past ten years Melissa has worked selflessly organizing and implementing numerous community events and charities. This year alone ; Trick or Treat off the Street, Shop With a Cop, Wreaths across America, Christmas Cards for troops, Adopt a Senior, Toys for Tots, Light up Pulaski, collected and donated food for Thanksgiving dinners for the senior citizens in this community.
One of Melissa’s biggest passions was the scholarship committee and worked tirelessly to help local students obtain a college education. Melissa’s daughter Savanah shares that same love for education and work ethic that Melissa demonstrates to those around her. Savanah graduated as salutatorian in 2020 and is currently enrolled in SUNY Oswego as an English major. She plans to continue on and obtain her Masters degree with the goal of becoming a publisher.
We are asking for financial assistance to assure that Savanah is able to fulfill her educational goals, as well as provide money to offset medical costs, bills, and housing expenses. It is going to be a very long road to recovery and any help would be greatly appreciated.
