Help for Sophie to replace her much needed car

Donation protected

Sophe's car was written off thanks to a hit and run truck driver.

On the 16th of April at 1pm Sophie's car was legally parked outside her home in Yowie Bay NSW.

A large ISUZU truck smashed into the back of it, sending it meters down the road, the driver fled the scene and attempts to identify the number plate via CCTV have been unsuccessful.

Reports were made to the police, but unfortunately nothing could be done to find the driver.

Sophie is a selfless aged care worker and on minimum wages and could only afford an insurance policy that covers other drivers, so as a result of this careless and cowardly act by the truck driver, Sophie is without her car - the car she saved so hard to buy, it's her transport to and from work, the car she would use to drive her foster siblings to daycare, outings & appointments.

Sophie is the daughter of long time friends of mine, Michelle and Dave. I can't really put into words how caring and selfless this family is, not only have they raised their own 4 children, but over the years they have had many foster children come to stay, most at very short notice, right now they have two beautiful toddlers living with them and I can tell you that those kids have everything, not only materialistic items, but the emotional love and support they need. All 4 of Michelle and Dave's biological children are directly involved in the care of these children, Michelle suffers from lupus and rheumatoid arthritis, and Sophie is there to support her and help with the little ones.

Sophie's siblings work in disability support and aged care, her dad Dave works in quarantine, they all hold jobs that serve the community and now I think it's time we give back and help Sophie out.

Back in November last year, my husband rescued two helpless kittens from a work site where they were being abused by the workers, through facebook I managed to re-home them both, one was taken in by Sophie, another example of her kind heart, since then I have been sent updates of "Daisy's" life and I can tell you that cat is one spoilt furry purry.

Sophie has experienced some tough challenges in her life, and she's always held her head high and become stronger, she's no quitter - instead she invests her energy into helping others, we can all learn something from her.

PLEASE, If you can donate, no matter the amount, it will be greatly appreciated.

I have set the amount at a humble $10k because Sophie would never expect a crazy flash car, I just want to be able to raise enough for her to purchase a safe, reliable car - especially because she transports precious children. Any left over money will be used to purchase new child car seats, as they were also ruined in the car wreck.

Kindness is what makes the world keep on spinning.
