Help for Susan and Ty

Donation protected
Ty and Susan Krean were ecstatic to find out that they were pregnant with their third child.  When Susan went to her first prenatal visit, she was surprised to find out she was carrying a set of fraternal twins!  Although they were not expecting it, a family of four children was exciting.  With two boys at home, they were happy to think about the addition of twins.

At Susan’s 12 week visit the doctor and the ultrasound technician were astounded to see that one of the twins had split into a set of identical twins!   Susan was pregnant with triplets!  Of course, with this excitement came a great deal of worry.  This pregnancy put Sue at the top of the “high risk” category.   Although the news was astonishing, Sue and Ty made the decision not to announce the pregnancy of triplets until they were sure that her babies would progress to a point where the they would be safe and viable.

We were all awaiting the 24-week period, so they could break the news and everyone could celebrate the anticipated arrival of triplets!

Sadly, at Susan’s 24-week appointment they detected a very serious problem with the babies.  Baby A had six times as much fluid as baby B; they call this twin to twin transfusion syndrome .  Baby A had signs of cardiac distress, which is the major concern with TTTS.  Her doctors searched for a hospital that could help Susan and the triplets.  The specialists at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston were willing to perform a placenta ablation to separate the vessels of the placenta of the identical twins, and give all three babies a better chance.  They flew Susan and Ty out to Texas.  Unfortunately, as they were prepping her for surgery, her water broke.

All three babies (all boys!) were delivered between 6:22 and 6:23 pm on Thursday, May 4th, 2017, at 24 weeks gestational age.  The triplets are fighting for their lives, they are not yet out of danger, each weighing over a pound.    I will keep you updated with news about their well-being.

This family NEEDS our help.  Susan and the triplets have a long road ahead of them before they can even think of transferring the babies closer to home.  Ty has to leave Susan in Houston and travel home to work and care for their other children.  Any financial assistance that we can give them at this very trying time will ease the stress of traveling back and forth from New Jersey to Texas as well as the financial burdens that will come with this medical journey.  The babies names are  Wyatt, Sawyer, and Holden- please keep them in your prayers.

Please keep Susan, Ty, Aiden, and Oliver also in your prayers.
