Help for the Blackstone River Theatre

We’ve all heard by now that arts-based organizations are feeling immense pain from the effects of the ongoing coronavirus/COVID-19, and one of our own, Russell Gusetti and Blackstone River Theatre in Cumberland, is one that’s being hit especially hard.
BRT remains open for small class situations, but concert cancellations are hammering this small theater that’s given so much to area residents, from classes to concerts to the annual Summer Solstice Festival.
The theater's director, Russell is a Pawtucket resident who also works with us at The Valley Breeze Newspapers, was inducted into the William Blackstone Society last spring for the impact he’s had on the Blackstone Valley. He’s always initiating a new effort to help performing artists and small arts organizations.
He is a founding member of the nonprofit Rhode Island Music Hall of Fame, co-founder and committee co-chairman of the Tune In & Tune Up R.I. Musicians Health Awareness Initiative, and a co-founding member of the Rhode Island-based Celtic ensemble Pendragon.
He and his team have produced Blackstone River Theatre Summer Solstice Festivals and Celtic Festivals at Cumberland’s Diamond Hill Park for the past decade.
Between taking cancellation calls and rescheduling classes, Russell is writing up his latest grant proposals while scrambling to keep programming going. This pandemic has changed everything for this nonprofit theater and the musicians it employs.
