Update 1/15/2025
Dear Friends, Family, and Supporters,
It's been one week since we lost our current home on Lincoln Ave. in Altadena. When we left home, we never imagined we wouldn't see it standing again. We're devastated to have lost family heirlooms, art collections, and the physical items that define our lives. We also lost the place where we have made so many family memories. But we are safe and we will move forward.
We are humbled by the scale of support we received and are grateful for the amazing people we have in our lives. We will get through this together and begin rebuilding our lives and community in Altadena as soon as logistics allow us to do so.
We hope you are all safe and with your loved ones. Thank you so much for your kind words, actions, and support.
With Love,
Michelle, Derek, Charles, and Poppy
Greetings friends and family!
You may now know my wonderful sister, Michelle, brother-in-law, Derek, and my nephew Charles have all lost their home in the fires in Altadena. They evacuated on Tuesday night due to power outages, having no idea the danger they were in. They woke up Wednesday and the fires had reached their neighborhood. Their house, Michelle's car, and all of their belongings are completely gone. It is heartbreaking.
Thankfully, Michelle, Derek, Charles, and their puppy Poppy are safe. We are all extremely distraught and feel powerless. But we can help.
Please consider making a donation, so they can get back on their feet and their life back in order. Any amount will help.
If you are unable to help financially, or would like to help in other ways, please reach out to me or their friend Frank Frelier to coordinate. Gift cards for clothes, food, and fuel would be helpful immediately. I will be happy to accept donations of toys and clothes for Charles (age 7 / size Small), or toys for Poppy. If you have a child, play dates with Charles would be appreciated to maintain a semblance of normalcy during this uncertain time.
I will update this GoFundMe page as we know more. Please reach out to me or Frank, in lieu of reaching out to them directly. They're dealing with a lot of unknowns at this time, and it would be helpful to alleviate some of the communications so they can focus on starting over.
Thank you for your love, support, and help.
