Help for the Peruvian stray dogs
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Perdy and I've recently got back from travelling South America.
The sights I seen were just heartbreaking and I was never aware of these before visiting Peru.
There were countless stray dogs in every street rummaging for food and trying to find water and shelter from the sun.
Considering the abuse and torment that they have been through they are still so loving at first when approaching them they cower away so I would leave food nearby and sit down until they approached me. They would eat the food then come and give you kisses as if to say thank you
I've asked locals why there are so many stray big dogs, and cats and small dogs seem so much more loved and better looked after and they told me that people get them and think they will stay small and as puppies. As soon as they grow bigger the owners throw them out onto the streets. I don't know how anyone can take a dog in, bond with them and then throw them onto the streets to fend for themselves as if they are nothing.
My plan is to go back to Peru in April 2025 to vaccinate, neuter and microchip as many dogs as possible in order to be able to bring them back to the UK for a better life.
They will live in my house until loving suitable homes are sourced and any rehoming fees will be then donated to PAWS charity to continue this work.
I am funding my own flights and accomodation and any donations will purely be spent on treatment the stray dogs need. There are so many requiring urgent vetinary care but the locals do not have the money to help.
Any donations will be so helpful.
