Remembering Baby Violet

Hello, my name is Ashley, and my best friend (really she’s more a sister than a friend) is the mother of two amazing boys (7 and 3) and is currently carrying her blessed baby girl. Unfortunately, this sweet baby has been diagnosed with trisomy 18, and no one can predict the amount of time this family will have with their daughter and sister. Skye has been fighting an uphill battle with our local doctors who don’t seem to want to give baby Violet the best chance of a life, no matter how short that may be. Skye and Matt have set the ultimate goal for Violet to be able to have a healthy birth and be able to come home on hospice so she can meet those of us who already love her so much. Over the next weeks and hopefully months, Skye, Matt, and their sons deserve to spend as much time as possible with Violet; and in doing that, the last thing I want them to worry about is money. Their house payment, car payment, groceries, and all the normal every day bills; not to even mention any and all supplies for baby Violet.

If and when sweet Violet passes, this family will still need to be surrounded by love and anything we can do to help them will never feel like enough. I don’t want them to worry about cost when picking out funeral services, urns, and of course a butterfly for the butterfly garden at mt. Hope cemetery- a place we often visit but will soon be visiting for much different reasons.

Skye and Matt are the absolute most amazing people and even better parents. They are quite literally the gold standard of working hard and raising good people and they do not deserve this fate for their daughter. They are not people who ask anything of anyone, so I will be that person for them and their children. Please help me ease the burden of this situation in any way you can. If you’re more comfortable with a check made out directly to them, gift cards for hannaford or IGA, Walmart, or target, as well as any gift cards for the boys that I can hand deliver, please send me a personal message and I will make that happen as well. I will also be setting up a meal train for the family and once I have that figured out I’ll post that as well.
