"Lo Spirito del Pianeta", the Spirit of the Planet, is an annual festival in Italy that celebrates indigenous cultures from around the world. The festival features traditional music, dance performances, workshops, and cultural exchanges, aiming to educate the public about various tribal customs and promote a sense of global brotherhood.

The festival serves as a platform for indigenous peoples to share their heritage and for attendees to gain a deeper understanding of diverse cultures. Over the last 24 years we have contributed to local indigenous projects, for example:

• We sponsored Pygmee children in their education so that they will have a better future

• We opened a medical dispensary and a well in a remote Maasai village so that locals don’t have to drive for hours to go to a hospital in case of need. We also sponsored a Maasai doctor so he can help with the dispensary and be a bridge between local and western medicine

• We financed local projects to support the sharing of the Aztec culture with children to give them a stronger sense of identity and a better life

• We pay all the groups participating in the festival so they can choose how to best support their heritage in their own country

• … and much more…

The festival is run by volunteers, but the cost of inviting and keeping the groups at the festival is astronomical. Income is largely weather dependent, and unfortunately for the last few summers the weather has not helped and we find ourselves struggling to cover all costs. The festival is at risk!

We have intentionally never charged for entry a the festival as we want more audience to come and learn from the amazing indigenous people we have had over the years. But now we need help. We are raising money to buy a van, which we will use to transport the group to the venue and to carry out our activities. Our van is now over 20 years old and is no longer safe to use.

Please help us keep the festival alive, and leave this platform of expression to indigenous people all over the world!

"Lo Spirito del Pianeta", lo Spirito del Pianeta, è un festival annuale in Italia che celebra le culture indigene di tutto il mondo. Il festival offre musica tradizionale, spettacoli di danza, laboratori e scambi culturali, con l'obiettivo di educare il pubblico sulle usanze tribali e promuovere un senso di fratellanza globale.

Il festival è una piattaforma per i popoli indigeni per condividere il loro patrimonio culturale e per i partecipanti per approfondire la conoscenza delle diverse culture. Negli ultimi 24 anni abbiamo contribuito a progetti indigeni locali, ad esempio:

• Abbiamo sponsorizzato l'istruzione dei bambini Pigmei affinché possano avere un futuro migliore.

• Abbiamo aperto un dispensario medico e un pozzo in un villaggio Maasai, in modo che i residenti non debbano passare ore in autobus per raggiungere un ospedale in caso di necessità.

• Abbiamo anche sponsorizzato un medico Maasai affinché potesse qualificarsi ed aiutare con il dispensario, e fungere da ponte tra la medicina locale e quella occidentale.

• Abbiamo finanziato progetti locali per sostenere la condivisione della cultura azteca con i bambini, per dare loro un senso di identità più forte e una vita migliore.

• Paghiamo tutti i gruppi che partecipano al festival, in modo che possano scegliere come sostenere al meglio il loro patrimonio culturale nei rispettivi Paesi.

Il festival è gestito da volontari, ma i costi per invitare e ospitare i gruppi sono astronomici. Le entrate dipendono in gran parte dal tempo atmosferico e, purtroppo, negli ultimi anni estivi il meteo non è stato favorevole, mettendoci in difficoltà nel coprire tutti i costi. Il festival è a rischio!

Abbiamo volutamente deciso di non far pagare l'ingresso al festival perché vogliamo che più persone possibili vengano a conoscere gli incredibili popoli indigeni che abbiamo ospitato nel corso degli anni. Ma ora abbiamo bisogno di aiuto. Stiamo raccogliendo fondi per acquistare un furgone, che utilizzeremo per trasportare i gruppi al festival e per svolgere le nostre attività. Il nostro attuale furgone ha più di 20 anni e non è più sicuro da utilizzare.

Per favore, aiutateci a mantenere vivo il festival e a preservare questa piattaforma di espressione per i popoli indigeni di tutto il mondo!

"Lo Spirito del Pianeta", der Geist des Planeten, ist ein jährliches Festival in Italien, das indigene Kulturen aus der ganzen Welt feiert. Das Festival bietet traditionelle Musik, Tanzaufführungen, Workshops und kulturellen Austausch, mit dem Ziel, die Öffentlichkeit über verschiedene Stammesbräuche aufzuklären und ein Gefühl der globalen Brüderlichkeit zu fördern.

Das Festival dient als Plattform für indigene Völker, um ihr kulturelles Erbe zu teilen, und ermöglicht den Besuchern, ein tieferes Verständnis für die Vielfalt der Kulturen zu entwickeln. In den letzten 24 Jahren haben wir zu zahlreichen indigenen Projekten beigetragen, darunter:

• Wir haben die Schulbildung von Pygmäenkindern unterstützt, damit sie eine bessere Zukunft haben.

• Wir haben eine medizinische Station und einen Brunnen in einem abgelegenen Maasai-Dorf errichtet, damit die Bewohner nicht stundenlang fahren müssen, um im Notfall ein Krankenhaus zu erreichen. Zudem haben wir einen Maasai-Arzt gefördert, der die medizinische Station betreut und eine Brücke zwischen lokaler und westlicher Medizin bildet.

• Wir haben lokale Projekte finanziert, um die Azteken-Kultur mit Kindern zu teilen und ihnen ein stärkeres Identitätsgefühl sowie ein besseres Leben zu ermöglichen.

• Wir bezahlen alle Gruppen, die am Festival teilnehmen, damit sie selbst entscheiden können, wie sie ihr kulturelles Erbe in ihrem Heimatland am besten unterstützen.

• … und vieles mehr.

Das Festival wird von Freiwilligen organisiert, aber die Kosten für die Einladung und Unterbringung der Gruppen sind enorm. Die Einnahmen hängen stark vom Wetter ab, und leider war das Wetter in den letzten Sommern oft ungünstig, was uns vor finanzielle Herausforderungen stellt. Das Festival ist in Gefahr!

Wir haben bewusst nie Eintrittsgelder verlangt, da wir wollen, dass mehr Menschen die Möglichkeit haben, von den großartigen indigenen Kulturen zu lernen, die wir im Laufe der Jahre willkommen heißen durften. Jetzt brauchen wir jedoch Ihre Unterstützung. Wir sammeln Spenden, um einen neuen Transporter zu kaufen, mit dem wir die Gruppen zum Veranstaltungsort bringen und unsere Aktivitäten durchführen können. Unser derzeitiger Transporter ist über 20 Jahre alt und nicht mehr sicher.
