Help for the Stickler Family

On January 14th, 2020, Adam was taking his work van back to clock out for the day. While stopped, waiting for traffic to pass so he could take a left hand turn into his work, a sheriff deputy rear-ended him. She was not responding to a call. No lights or sirens were on. She was honest about that while the responding officer filled out the police report.

Adam sustained several injuries in the accident, including whiplash, a neck injury, torn labrum, occipital neuralgia, a brain injury, and more. He has been treating with several specialists in an effort to return back to a job he loves, and a pain-free life. Interacting with others, including our children, can often be a difficult task since the accident as well. This has been troublesome to Adam, but he is working with a specialist.

In PA, his injury falls under Workers Comp because he was in his work vehicle when the accident took place. Workers Comp stopped paying in April 2020 when a Workers Comp assigned Independent Medical Examiner deemed him fit to return to work immediately. It didn't matter that he still hadn't had surgery, still couldn't lift more than 10 pounds, has constant debilitating headaches, and more. It didn't even matter that his specialists said he couldn't return to work. All that mattered was the word of one doctor. We are fighting but our funds are low.

We have used the money we were planning to do our roof and siding with. We have used our tax returns, our savings, and our stimulus checks. Adam cannot return to his job at this time per doctor's orders. With his debilitating injuries which still are not healed, he cannot take a different job either. We are praying that this will change, but we have been told it can be a long road. Sunshine works part time as an independent sales consultant for Lemongrass Spa, as well as a crafting business so she can remain flexible and take Adam to his appointments. Adam is no longer able to drive with the injuries he sustained in the accident.

In addition to our bills, we also need funds for things Adam is skilled in but can no longer do, like chopping wood, stopping the leak in our shed, etc. We will need to hire someone to do these odd jobs for us.
