Help for the Teague Family

This note is from Devon & Erin Accardi, Will & Jessica Odom and Robby & Katie Painter – some of the Teague’s longest friends. We knew them before Charlotte, NC… before Cookeville… Before Hayslee… Before Wells… Before Charlotte…
Here is what we know about them. Drew is passionate. He solves problems. His words mean so much—when he speaks, we listen. Molly is constant. She warms a room. Her actions mean so much—when she’s with us, we feel cared for and about. And we all, if we are reading this, know all of this about them. And we are all wondering how we can show up for the couple and family who has shown up for us… time after time after time.
Well… here is a way. Let’s call it phase one: The Teague’s immediate needs.
In a time like this, the more weeds, worries, and questions that can be cleared out of the way, the better. Who is paying for dinner? Where do we live during Charlotte’s stay at Vanderbilt? Can we afford another week in an AirBnB? How long will we be here? How will we get back and forth? How will we care for visitors (because even though we will personally tell them to not care for their visitors… they will… they are the Teague’s… we know they will… they always have)? Should we say yes to this treatment or opportunity? Can we afford it?
So this is phase one: Let’s take care of the Teague’s financial burden for the next 30-45 days. Let’s erase the questions. Let’s allow them to rent the car, book the hotel, buy the dinner. Let’s help them with one of the rack of weights they will be carrying.
And let’s all remember that before all of us knew about Charlotte, God knew about her. He made her. He crafted her. Everyone still reading, hear this: God is the same today as He has always been. He loves us. And gives us wonderful gifts. This. This, too, is a gift. We might not understand it. It might be so hard. But he knows what he is doing, and for that, we are glad.
