HELP FOR VALENCIA FLOODINGS
Donation protected
We are a coalition of Spanish Societies from universities across the UK, including the Cambridge University Spanish Society, LSE Spanish Society, UCL Spanish and Latin-American Society, University of Bath Spanish Society, Warwick Spanish Society, and Oxford Spanish Society. Together, we have united with the shared mission to support the people of Valencia during this challenging time.
Last week, Spain experienced a severe DANA, a meteorological phenomenon that produces intense, localized storms. This event led to catastrophic flooding, particularly in Valencia (eastern Spain), resulting in extensive property damage and a tragic loss of life.
The heavy rains overwhelmed infrastructure, impacting roads, homes, and essential services, leaving many residents displaced. To support those affected, we are organizing a formal fundraising dinner at a Cambridge college. All proceeds from this event will be added to this GoFundMe and donated to local and national NGOs, such as the Red Cross, Banco de Alimentos, and Cáritas, who are actively providing relief to the affected areas.
Our goal is to raise as much as possible to help provide food, water, shelter, and other basic necessities for these communities. By contributing to this GoFundMe or joining us at the formal, you’ll be directly supporting recovery efforts, bringing hope and relief to families working to rebuild their lives in Valencia.
