Help for Veterans Injured Service Dog Rocky

Donation protected
On Tuesday, June 6, our Rottweiler, Rocky was hit by a pickup truck. The electric fence malfunctioned and he was chasing something across the street – which he never did before! Rocky is the Service Dog for Tiffany, a combat veteran with PTSD and has been in training for the past 6 months – he has more months ahead of him – through the WNY Heroes training program.
Rocky can walk, but had a punctured lung that required staying at the emergency vet's oxygen kennel to promote natural healing. He had xrays and bloodwork and thankfully no internal bleeding! He did need air taken out around his lungs where it leaked into his chest cavity. He also had elevated liver enzymes.
Rocky is now home recuperating, for which the family is so thankful! He does require several types of meds and comfort and care – that’s the easy part, he’s such a big love bug! The emergency vet bill – to date – is $9,000.00+. Although we are all thrilled to have the skilled folks at the emergency vet save Rocky’s life and patch him up, the emergency services bill is a true hardship for his veteran owner. If you can help donate towards the costs of his emergency vet bill, we would be so appreciative! We want Rocky to heal, and get back to his “job” training as a veteran’s service dog!
